ServeWyoming is our State’s center for volunteerism and national service. We exist to help implement and coordinate the AmeriCorps programs, as well as build, maintain and mobilize the volunteer infrastructure we believe necessary to address the critical needs in our State. We also collaborate with other AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors programs such as AmeriCorps*VISTA and AmeriCorps Seniors*RSVP and VGF*Service Learning.

Our Staff

Shelly McAlpin

Executive Director

McAlpin was appointed Executive Director for ServeWyoming in 2012 and has been with ServeWyoming for over 19 years. Her resume includes over 25 years of experience in non-profit management including grant administration, program coordination, emergency volunteer coordination, fund development, policy administration and new program development. She holds a master’s degree in Political Science/Foreign Policy & a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wyoming.  In addition, she is certified in volunteer management. Prior to this appointment, Shelly was the program director for ServeWyoming, coordinating and developing the VolunteerWyoming component of ServeWyoming while supervising the AmeriCorps*VISTA program. Shelly was originally introduced to ServeWyoming as a volunteer. 

Wendy Luck

Division Manager of Volunteers Program

Luck has over 20 years of experience in volunteer and emergency management, recruitment, training, coordination, and organization and holds a master’s degree in Crisis and Emergency Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She enjoys a life of service, helping those who help us in the volunteer community. She previously served the citizens of Wyoming as an AmeriCorps member at Casper’s Life Steps Campus, the Casper/Natrona County Medical Reserve Corps as Unit Coordinator and as a Fire Fighter and EMS Training Captain with Evansville Emergency Services. She also has years of experience volunteering with many partner organizations and is proud to now be a member of the ServeWyoming team assisting those very same organizations.

Michelle Reynolds

Volunteer Coordinator, Asst.

(AmeriCorps*RSCP – Retired and Senior Volunteer Program)

Reynolds was born and raised in Wyoming. As a lifetime public servant, Michelle enjoys serving the community from the behind the scenes and feels that being a public servant in the community is one of the most rewarding things in her life. Outside of family, Michelle enjoys long walks, traveling and believes that every day is a new day to always try something new.

Megan Jensen

Grant Manager

Megan joins the Serve Wyoming team with a background in program management, financial oversight, and compliance. She holds an MBA from Boise State University and previously served as a Program Manager for a statewide school-based therapy initiative in Wyoming. In that role, she helped monitor grant compliance, track program progress and milestones, manage budgets and expenses, and prepare program and financial reports. She also conducted site visits, worked with participating community health partners across the state, and served as a point of contact for program partners.

Her professional experience also includes compliance and auditing work, including internal audits, documentation review, and monitoring adherence to federal regulations and reporting requirements. Megan is familiar with federal compliance frameworks such as the CFR, OIG guidance, and related reporting standards.

Megan is motivated by meaningful work and enjoys supporting initiatives that create lasting impact. She brings curiosity and a love of learning to her work, especially when it comes to understanding how programs and systems work together to drive results. As a proud Wyomingite, she cares deeply about her community and culture and believes in supporting opportunities that strengthen children, families, and animal welfare across Wyoming.
